CryptoToadz x CloneX Digital Fashion NFT Collection

Project Overview

We designed a high-quality digital fashion NFT collection exclusively for CloneX holders, inspired by the playful and iconic world of CrypToadz.
This limited wardrobe drop brings together the cultural energy of NFTs with fashion-forward virtual wearables tailored for CloneX avatars.

The collection features 8 unique fashion pieces — including Scribble Sneakers, BigDaddy Runner Sneakers, a Red Puffer Jacket, Stylized Jeans, Croc Green Cap, Black Beanie, and custom legwear — all crafted to perfectly fit CloneX body rigs.
Each item merges the quirky charm of CrypToadz IP with bold streetwear aesthetics, offering collectors a way to showcase personality and style in the metaverse.

This NFT collection bridges communities of CloneX and CrypToadz while celebrating the evolution of digital fashion, where creativity, culture, and Web3 identity collide.

Project Workflow

1. Vision & Goals

We set the north star: a digital fashion drop for CloneX that looks ultra-realistic yet remains low-poly, with a workflow simple enough that non-3D users can dress their CloneX and create social-ready content fast.

2. Moodboarding (Digital Fashion × CrypToadz × CloneX)

We curated reference boards blending playful CrypToadz energy with streetwear silhouettes that read well on CloneX proportions—color pops, chunky footwear, puffer volume, and graphic doodles that carry the IP’s vibe.

3. Sketch Exploration

Quick pencil/Procreate sketches to lock shapes and personality—focusing first on the two sneakers (Scribble + BigDaddy Runner) and the croc-green toad cap—then roughs for the red puffer, stylized jeans, shorts-with-full-leg-sleeves, and beanie.

4. Garment Construction in Marvelous Designer

All clothing was patterned and simulated in Marvelous Designer to capture real cloth behavior—creases, weight, and drape—so the assets feel physically believable on CloneX bodies.

5. Fit Testing on CloneX Avatars

We tested poses and common actions to ensure clean deformation and collision-free fits across CloneX body types, then froze “no-sim” meshes so users don’t need to run simulation to wear the pieces.

6. Texturing & Surface Detail in Substance Painter

PBR materials (basecolor/roughness/normal/metalness) were hand-painted in Substance Painter with custom CrypToadz-style doodling and tasteful motif placements, balancing realism with the collection’s playful identity.

7. Sneakers: Hard-Surface Modeling in Blender

Both sneakers were modeled in Blender for precise shapes, panel breaks, and sole treads—then UV’d for clean texture baking and consistent detail density across views.

8. Retopology for Low-Poly, Creator-Friendly Use

We retopo’d all garments and footwear in Blender, optimizing edge flow for deformation and keeping triangle counts friendly for real-time and quick rendering. Where helpful, we created LODs and texture atlases to keep file sizes light.

9. Material Setup & LookDev in Blender

Materials were set up for both Eevee and Cycles with tidy node graphs, so creators can swap colors, tweak roughness, or switch decals without breaking the look. Lighting presets help users hit “good-looking” renders out of the box.

10. Rigging, Attachment & “One-Click Wear”

Pieces are pre-aligned to CloneX, with parenting/armature modifiers and simple fit controls where needed. The goal: import, parent to the avatar rig (or drop into the provided scene), and start posing—no advanced 3D skills required.

11. Packaging & Documentation

We packaged assets in common creator formats (.blend/.fbx/.obj/.glb where relevant), included clear folder structure and naming, and added a quick-start guide so holders can dress their CloneX and export content for socials in minutes.

12. Teasers, Renders & Social-Ready Content

We produced short item teasers and beauty renders in Blender—turntables, hero angles, and close-ups—so the NFT collection showcases well on marketplaces and gives holders promo-ready visuals to share.

13. QA, Performance & Final Pass

We stress-tested files on mid-range machines, checked texture links, verified rig attachments, and did a last polish pass on normals, clipping, and shading—ensuring the collection feels premium yet accessible.
